The idea of an Anglican school in Wollongong began with two pioneers who shared a vision for Christian education while spreading God’s message in the Illawarra. Bishop Gordon Begbie and Reverend Roy Gray saw a need for the Anglican Church to expand their educational theology and so The Illawarra Grammar School was established. Over the past 59 years TIGS community has developed lasting traditions and shared many cherished memories. In this edition of Elevate, we look back at some of these memories from our past.
